Oceanaire 400 J Street San Diego

I was really looking forward to eating at Oceanaire and initial signs were good. The decor, while a bit tackier than the website suggested, was interesting, and the white coat clad waitress bubbly. Unfortunately the food was pretty damn bad. Red Chilli Rock Shrimp was very, very hot. Too hot, which is not something I often say. Fisherman’s Platter apparently contains Oregon Ling Cod, Black Tiger Shrimp, Pacific Oysters and Scallops with Salt & Vinegar Fries. Well, it was the largest single serving of fries I've ever seen, but the fish all tasted more or less the same - coated in 'meh' and fried beyond recognition. The only saving grace was a dessert of Baked Alaska which was flamed at the table and split four ways. Yummy. Next time I'll stick to The Fish Market, a similar idea, but better executed.
