My colleague and pal Neal just sent me these, which certainly need to be shared. Taken at a night market in Beijing.
Scorpion: "Tastes like chicken. Stingers dissolve when deep fried", says Neal.
Sadly I've not had seahorse or scorpion, though I've tried chicken feet, duck tongue and what I think were bamboo tree grubs at similar markets.
Neal also encountered starfish, seahorse, grasshopper, and three varieties of cockroach. "All the basic food groups. High in protein. Crunchy on outside, chewy/gooey on the inside."
