William Gibson

Just been to the William Gibson signing at Forbidden Planet.
Three times in a month isn't stalking right? William Gibson agrees, assuring me that my accosting him in a rain sodden London street the other day had, in fact, cheered him up. Which is cool because that's the exact effect it had on my rather dismal mood. We also chatted about his watch, which I un-cooly mistook for the J Crew Timex, but was in fact a rare domestic market Seiko on a NATO style strap.

Nowhere near as good as the Booksmith signing last month in San Francisco where he read and did a long Q&A, nor as serendipitously cool as running into him in the street last week, but still a chance to get my first editions of the Sprawl books signed (and pick up a limited edition of the Gibson recommended Zoo City.) Plus a brief chat with Gibson goes a long way in the making me smile stakes.
