That was perfect: poached eggs piquant with vinegar, tomatoes bursting with flavour (all too rare) and a sausage of black pudding. Coffee ordered black came with cream on the side anyway and the music was momentary awkwardly loud (they fixed it). But for a Sunday brunch, very nice indeed.
That said I rather suspect that if you're a Londoner in NY you can maybe skip The Clocktower and just hit Berners Tavern instead. Several menu items are identical (Mac n cheese with ox cheek, fish & chips, the burger) and the space is a more cramped version of Berners with the art spread over several lower ceilinged rooms. They're both in Edition hotels too.
Ok let's just say it: The Clocktower is Berners Tavern copied in NYC. That's great for New York but as a tourist, you can miss it.
Service impeccable. Total $24 for breakfast and coffee before tip.
