And to fill the gap while we wait MPW's new book is out today: Marco Pierre White in Hell's Kitchen accompanies the new TV show starting in September.
I'll be able to get rid of my photocopy of White Heat at last!
In the meantime I'll continue to try to puzzle out just what MPW is doing on P&O's new ship, Ventura. A mailing received yesterday from P&O contains the information that he's doing menus for the coffee bar and for The Beach House a select dining venue, which we already knew. But it also says that his other venture onboard is a Frankies outlet. However an interview with Ventura exec-chef, the brilliant, steely-eyed Trevor Connolly, in the same mailing says that MPW's other venue is The White Room, which was rumoured to be a fine dining venue. What's going on? Given the child friendly nature of the ship Frankies sounds more likely to me, but I'm routing for The White Room given the impressive (better than Rhodes 24) quality of Arcadian Rhodes on P&O's Arcadia.
For those interested in P&O dining, apparently a new gala dinner is being introduced on four of the fleet's ships, including Arcadia. The Chaîne des Rôtisseurs gala dinner follows the induction last year (at a dinner at Arcadian Rhodes) of several P&O food service personnel including Connolly.
