Eden, Temple Bar, Dublin2

I got lost looking for Eden, and soaked in the Dublin rain. It didn't matter once we got inside where tangled growths hung from the cieling and the open kitchen radiated warmth.

At lunch time there's a set menu with two courses for 22 euros and three for 26. I had smoked salmon to start, served with pickles and brown bread followed by fillet of Irish beef with green beans and champ (supplement of 8 euros). Tart tatin rounded off the meal.

How was it? Straightforwardly good. Excellent ingredients, well cooked (though my medium steak was on the edge of well done which was a shock after being in the states where medium mostly equals pink & warm not brown...) Service was good and unrushed. The restaurant hit maximum capacity while we were there, so booking is advised, even for lunch.

I'd be very happy to eat there again.
