Ok, while we're on the subject of chain restaurants I might as well fess up that I went to a Nando's Chicken the other week too.
I know opinions are divided on Nando's, with some of the opinion that it's a glorified KFC and others that it's a breath of fresh air in the rather moribund morass of italian and asian themed chain restaurants.
Well, if you're after service, Nando's in not for you. You get a table with a number on it. You go to a counter to order food. Sit and wait for the food to be brought to you. Service when we were there was slow, but they did warn us when we placed our orders that they were cooking a new "batch." The food was pretty decent when it came - I had a quarter chicken (you can chose how spicy it is when you order) and a side dish (fries). Dishes can be ordered as a combo for extra value.
Any good? Yep. I can see why Nando's has it's fans, though I can't say I prefer it to Kate's stunning Spicy Lemon Chicken. I'd pop in again if in need of a meal nearby one, but it's not destination food for me.
