'Junk' food round up

I'm not someone who thinks it's inherently better to eat high-end food all the time. Some of the best food experiences I've had have been street food.

Junk food or bar food is more on the line... sure a lot of the time I'd rather be eating something else but that doesn't mean there's nothing good to be said for mainsteam, low cost eating. Especially with a beer or two.

Here's a run down of what I've tried lately.

Pizza at Gordon Biersch, San Jose. Pretty good actually - spicy, hot, not too large to eat on your own.

Pork Burrito at Chipotle, San Francisco (Union Square). Great value and popular with hipsters if the crowd when I was there is anything to go by. Cheap chips and dips for the side too. Open in London now too.

Burger Joint Cheeseburger. Not 100% fast food since the burger's are cooked to order and brought out to your table (though like Nando's you order upfront). Burger was cooked acurately (medium) and pretty tasty. Must be since this was my second visit to the outlet in the Mission.

Blondie's Pizza is a Bay instritution with an outlet on Powell in San Francisco and another in Berkley. I went to the Berkley one, which was pretty meh I'd say. Pizza a little over done. Nice selection of shakers if you want herbs/cheese added though.

Much more exciting in Berkley was Dojo Dog, a food truck located near the university (on Bancroft). I went for the Wushu dog combining pork, cabbage and Katsu sauce. Excellent, and similar in it's Asian/Dog fusion concept to Vancouver's brilliant Japadog.
