Who makes the best low carb burger? Part 1
Both of the middle/premium fast food burger chains in California offer a bun less variant on their product. At Five Guys in fact there are two - either in a bowl or wrapped in lettuce. I went for the bacon cheeseburger 'wrap' which actually turned out to be a wedge of lettuce smartly cut into a sort of imitation bun. Apart from this substitution the burger is identical to its wheat smothered version and I added pickles, onion, mushroom and tomato. The regular burger is two patties and filling so no need for fries. I managed about half before it fell apart a bit and I had to resort to knife and fork. Overall very impressive if a tad messy. The 'little' version is one patty and might be easier to manage.
