Dave & Busters and Opa!, Santa Clara, USA

Ok, we went to Dave & Buster's at the Great Mall to play video games, but I was surprised to find a thriving early evening bar scene with local business folks watching sports and eating huge plates of fried and carb heavy food. When in Rome etc. so I tucked into a cheeseburger with fries, which I found ok, while Chris went for the heroic option (think 300 Spartans) and had the Caveman Combo of "individual St. Louis-style pork ribs tossed in a Sriracha honey soy glaze served with four mini-cheeseburgers on Hawaiian rolls and seasoned french fries." He finished it too, so it can be done no matter how epic it sounds.

For a healthier option the next day we hit up Greek restaurant Opa! (exclamation mark restaurant's own) at Santa Clara Marketplace. Here too the plates were huge with an all the dips starter defeating three of us. The souvlaki was good (not Santorini good, but 'would have again' good for sure). As we at tables all around us had dishes set on fire next to them, a rather off piece of performance for a place mostly full of business people.

While in the vicinity why not hit up Lula's Chocolates for delicious salted caramels too?
