Il Fornaio, San Jose

A high ceilinged, vibrant dinning room seemed to buzz but service was glacial. A soup special, brocolli, was salty but passable. Carpacio beautifully presented but meat quality nothing to write home about. Pizza vegetariana huge and the best course - fresh tasting and more-ish. Open kitchen is a nice touch but well hidden from all but a couple of tables - worth asking for one if you like looking at professionals work.
